I Am Thankful...
Sometimes in the morning I wake up and notice it's much later than the usual wake up time. I climb out of bed to find that Eric has pulled our daughter from her crib, has quietly changed her, and is playing with her out in the living room. The doors to the hallway have been shut, a clear sign that he is trying to keep all the gleeful sounds, the coos and the giggles from reaching my sleepy space in the bedroom. He's working hard to keep Norah good and distracted from realizing it's been a LONG time since she's eaten. All this just because he's aware enough to wake up to Norah's sounds even before I do, because he LOVES to be with his baby girl, because he is completely comfortable and competent to meet all her needs and to make her very HAPPY, but mostly because he loves me and is willing to serve me, to do whatever it takes to let me have those extra moments sleeping away. Eric is my husband, my best friend and love. Amazing relationships with family and friends have been the most beloved and important part of my life, but none can compare with the one Eric and I share together. I have loved him for over seven years, and even more so now as he wears the shoes of daddy. Once we were married, I remember thinking that he is an even better husband than I had anticipated him being, and my expectations were HIGH, as they always are. The same is true now. I cannot wait for the day when Norah is old enough to feel as proud as I am to call him her own. Thank you, Eric, for making us yours, for your great, great care over us! I am thankful...

But Smiling Is So Great, It Makes Me Smile...
Three months was the beginning of my most favorite age... Her smiles came and then her giggles. I'm crazy happy to see her so happy! Of course, Norah is not limited to HAPPY; she can also be quite focused, as you see above!!
Everybody's Sleepy...
Norah began sleeping through the night at about 9 weeks. Before then... well... we were very tired. I'm not sure there is any way to describe this kind of TIRED. Also no way to describe how WORTH IT...

Brand New Norah!
Norah Anne came out screaming on her due date, July 22nd. Labor was intense and miraculous. By God's grace, she was PERFECT, weighing in at 6 lbs. and measuring 19.5 inches. We were in LOVE! I think Eric may have even been floating. I don't remember his feet touching the ground or the smile leaving his face.

Waiting for Baby
Here I am pregnant. The news was a shock to all, but the excitement grew immediately, far more rapidly than my belly...
